Drop Box Tool

As in the Resources tool, the Drop Box tool now has an Add and Actions box next to each file (Actions only) or folder (both boxes). Mouseover the boxes to see a list of actions that can be taken or items that can be added, and click on one to execute that action.

The Drop Box tool provides a means for the instructor and any individual student to pass files back and forth. It works much like the Resources tool, except that each student has their own folder, and can only see that folder. The instructor and TAs can see all of the folders. This works well for providing individual feedback, or extra materials tailored to an individual student. General class materials should be placed in the Resources tool, while files turned in for homework should use the Assignments tool.

The Drop Box tool has the same interface as the main page of the Resources tool, except that it does not have the other tabs at the top, nor the ability to view resources from other OWL-Space sites. You can move files and folders between the Drop Box and Resources tool from within the Resources tool, when you expand the view to Show Other Sites. You cannot move anything between Drop Box and Resources from with the Drop Box tool.

A folder for each member of your site is automatically created in the Drop Box tool. Other than the differences in access noted above, the Drop Box works otherwise like the Resources tool.
