Web Content Tool
The Web Content tool allows you to directly link another website into your OWL-Space site. The pages of the second site can be viewed without leaving OWL-Space (they will take up the "content" space of the OWL-Space page, leaving the left-hand menu bar and the OWL-Space navigation bar still visible).
To add a Web Content tool to your site, go to Site Info and click on the Edit Tools tab at the top. Scroll down the list of tools to the Web Content tool, check the box next to it, and press the Continue button at the bottom.
You will be taken to a page to customize your new Web Content tool. Here you can set the title, which will appear in the left hand menu bar as well as above your linked web site. In the URL box, enter the URL of the web site you want to link to this tool. In the selection box, you can choose to add more Web Content tools at the same time. Choose as many as you want, as many times as you want, customize them all, and then press the Continue button. Press the Finish button on the next page.
Now your new Web Content tool will appear in the left hand menu bar, under whatever Title you gave it. Click on the title to go to your new tool.
The main page of the Web Content tool will have your chosen title, an Options link below it, and below that the linked web site will be displayed. You can interact with this second site exactly as you normally would.
The Options tab for the Web Content tool allows you to edit all the customization you made when the tool was created, plus you can change the height of the area ("frame") in which the linked site appears. You can also choose to name the link in the menu bar (Page Title) and the title displayed on the main page of this web content tool (Tool Title) separately. Lastly, you can check the Open in new window? box to make this tool open the linked web page in a new browser window when you click on the Page Title in the left hand menu bar. When opening in a separate window, your Web Content tool will still have the Tool Title you chose and the Options link at the top, with the linked web site below them.
